Dr. J Lail is the very proud Superintendent of Medicine Lake Schools. He entered the field of Education after serving six years in the United States Army. He attended Northern Kentucky University in Kentucky where he earned three degrees (BA English, MA Education/Teaching, MA Educational Leadership), Xavier University in Cincinnati where he earned a Master of Arts in English and, most recently, the University of Kentucky where he earned his Doctor of Education degree.
Dr. Lail has worked as a teacher, professor and administrator for over 15 years and has worked in schools that are rural, suburban and urban with enrollments of 100 - 1400 students. He has five children ranging in age from 17-26 years old and has two grandchildren. Dr. Lail has chosen Montana as his home and will eventually retire here with his wife, Melinda.
So far, other than working with the students, teachers and parents of Medicine Lake Schools, his favorite moment as a Redhawk was burning an outhouse for Homecoming!
